I stopped at Pickerington Ponds Metro Park in Southeast Columbus yesterday, and there were nice numbers and fairly nice variety of waterfowl. For me the best waterfowl spot at Pick Ponds is usually Pintail Marsh, which is reached by a 3/4 mile walk.

On the way in: Lots of Flickers; Eastern Meadowlarks; Field Sparrows; Savannah Sparrows; several Ring-Necked Pheasants; lots of Towhees; Phoebes at the creek; a couple of Eastern Bluebirds.

At Pintail Marsh:
Bufflehead (3)
Ring-necked Ducks (30)
Shovelers (20)
Mallards
Black Duck
Ruddy Ducks (30)
Gadwall
Pied-billed Grebe (1)
Canada Goose

There is a large Great Blue Heron colony on the far side of Ellis Pond; and there was an Osprey on the platform at Arrowhead Marsh.
