It may not seem all that big of a find, but I just found a lone Pectoral Sandpiper with 23 (!!) Wilson's Snipes, all foraging in a wet drainage area just north of Hamden. Shorebirds can be pretty hard to come by considering how wooded we are down here. According to eBird, I'm the first and only person to ever see snipes here, and I'm the first to see a Pectoral since 1996. 

Other birds of note this morning was a calling Great Horned Owl, a singing Louisiana Waterthrush, and an Osprey all out at Lake Rupert. It seems like there was a fair bit of migration last night according to the radar, so everyone should get out and check their local patches!
