I birded several areas around 3Creeks Park in south Columbus and found a healthy dose of early temperate migrants. I stopped at the Confluence Area, the Borrow Pits area, Elk Run, and Heron Pond, and the list included:

Sapsucker - at least 2 (Elk Run, Borrow Pits)
N.Flickers - good numbers (12/2 hours) over all sites, with lots of calling and displaying
E.Phoebe - singles at many locations, 5-6 in all over 2 hours
Tree Swallows - 6 males singing & displaying at several different spots, usually around birdhouses
BrownCreeper - 1 singing in the big riparian woods at the Confluence area
Golden-cr.Kinglets - numbers down, but still had 5
BrownThrashers - singing birds at both the Confluence area and Borrow Pits
E.Towhees - good fallout, with 12/2 hours
Field Sparrows - 5-6 singing birds at several different locations
Chipping Sparrows - at least 2 were singing in the pines at the Confluence Area
White-throated Sparrows - small flocks of 10-12 birds at several different areas
Fox Sparrows - singing or calling birds at many different locations, 6 in all
Blackbirds - lots of Redwings, Grackles, & Cowbirds. No Rusties.
