My mom and I found the Great Cormorant around 4:15 PM looking from the old
Coast Guard station. It was in a similar position to what Steve
described. We got great looks of the bill and side through my scope for
about 15 minutes before we watched it hunker down and tuck its head down
too. Couldn't tell it apart from the others after that.

Spotted an Eared Grebe (life bird) and Pied Billed Grebe from the pier by
the Lorain impoundment later on this evening (around 6:30 PM). A large
variety of ducks were in the impoundment. Best of the bunch for me were a
few Gadwall and several Redheads (hadn't seen any yet before today, this
year). Couldn't find the Long-tailed Duck when I was there. Scanned the
rocks where it's so often been seen but had no luck. Another day...

Happy Birding!
