We have many turkey vultures, and black vultures too, who winter over here
in central Ohio. They don't ever leave. This has been true for at least 20
years for the turkey vultures. The black vultures are more recent arrivals;
I would say we have seen them regularly here in Granville for the last
10-12 years. All the vultures find this a great place to live, an
area that is very hilly (creating strong updrafts) and wooded, an
excellent spot for the many little critters who regularly sacrifice
themselves on the rural roads. Life is good here for buzzards!
