A northern shrike was observed at Lake Erie Bluffs in Lake County this afternoon.  The bird was in an area of dense brush  about 200 yards south of the Clark Road parking lot.  You had to walk back a bit, but the bird frequented the tops of the taller trees..  It is walkable, but knee boots are a necessity as it is wet.


I also observed a ruffed grouse walking down one of the unimproved trails.  Only other birds of note were an American woodcock and a couple wood ducks.
