The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has a large mural  of the world that depicts
representatives of every bird family.  It is now  available online in an
interactive  form.

Clicking  on a bird opens a side bar that gives info on that species and
tells what family  it represents, has a recording of it sound, gives
information about its family,  and shows a zoomable range map.
