Hi,

3 Louisiana Waterthrushes were singing on territory along the East Branch
of the Chagrin River at the Holden Arboretum, in Kirtland, this morning.

The East Branch is a state scenic river and a very high quality mountain
stream that runs on bedrock. Northern Ohio is the northern edge of the
breeding range for Louisiana Waterthrush and they are among the earliest
neotropical migrants to return each spring.

Other highlights from our BBS survery hike were Broad-winged hawk, five
peckerwood species, a flock of Hermit Thrushes, American Robins, singing
Winter and Carolina Wrens, Bank Swallows and Northern Redbirds.

Haans
