I stopped at several spots along Darby Creek west of Columbus this morning, starting in Prairie Oaks MetroPark (Darby Bend Lakes, Sycamore Plains) and working down to BattelleDarby (Cedar Ridge). There was a steady dribble of temperate migrants and new resident arrivals, but no big fallouts like last weekend. Notables included:

waterfowl - hardly anything other than Mallards & Geese and a few Wood Ducks
raptors - Red-tails in many locations, but nothing else
woodpeckers - good #s of Flickers, but only 1 Sapsucker (at Cedar Ridge)
flycatchers - only E.Phoebes, with singles at nearly every stop
Swallows - lots of Tree Swallows and Rough-wings, at many different spots. 1 Barn at Darby Bend Lakes
Wrens - FOS House Wrens at Darby Bend Lakes & Sycamore Plains, plus a Winter still at Cedar Ridge
Gnatcatchers - the only species approaching a wave, with double-figures at several spots
Kinglets - switching over, with 6-8 Ruby-crowns and only 2 Golden-crowns
Thrushes - a single Hermit Thrush was at Darby Bend Lakes
Mimids - a Mockingbird was at Sycamore Plains, while a Thrasher was singing at Cedar Ridge

Warblers - aside from the scattering of Yellow-rumps, there were also singing Yellow-throated at both Sycamore Plains and Cedar Ridge, and there were 2 Louisiana Waterthrushes singing in ravines at Cedar Ridge, and a Parula just downstream from them. The only obvious migrant was a singing Pal Warbler in a tiny pine copse at Franks Park
Sparrows - LOTS of Field Sparrows, plus smaller #s of Songs and Chipping and White-throats
Blackbirds - many Redwings, Grackles, Cowbirds
Meadowlarks - good numbers, with 3 at Darby Bend Lakes and another 4 at Sycamore Plains
