Yesterday I took a different route home to go to a store and passed by the Kindred Assisted Living/Healthcare facility that has a large pond right by the east side of Brainard Rd just south of Mayfield Rd in Lyndhurst.  It is the pond that is further south. I could see a Common Loon from the street.  I pulled in and could see it partially submerged with his head underwater most of the time feeding after 3pm.
I returned today much earlier and the Loon was still in there around 11:50am.  This pond is pretty long so I don't think he will have a problem getting out of there.
Usually this place only has Geese and Mallards - very infrequently I have seen Hooded Mergansers during migration.
