Went on a Spring Bird Walk this AM with Dan/Becky Donaldson at Headlands
Dunes State Nature Preserve. Ended with 60 species of birds ( I only
saw 55 species ). In spite of the 23 degree temp ( and it was frosty )
the birds were entertaining. We had 5 Vesper Sparrows, 3 Loons on the
Lake, 2 Black Ducks, 3 Sapsuckers just to list a few. When we returned
home to Chardon, we had 4 Fox Sparrows in our backyard. They have
spent all day digging under our blue spruce in the leaves mainly.
