For a few afternoons I've scouted areas of the Hoover Nature Preserve around northern part of the reservoir near Columbus, looking for the last temperate migrants and early neotropicals. So far, nothing on the latter, but the former are still much in evidence, including

waterfowl - still small flocks of Lesser Scaup and Ruddy Ducks off Oxbow Island
cormorants - good #s, with flocks of 10-20 birds at many areas of the northern reservoir
gulls - few Ring-bills, but had small squads of Bonaparte's, most in their smart Spring plumage
woodpeckers - a few sapsuckers, singles at the Hoover bikepath and at Char-Mar Preserve
flycatchers - nothing but E.Phoebes, but they're widespread
Swallows - plenty of Tree Swallows squabbling over tree cavities, and a few Rough-wings
Wrens - no House yet, but Winters still at several locations (bikepath, Char-Mar)
Brown Creeper - still widespread, with 1-3 at most sites
Kinglets - still quite a few Golden-crowns in most forest areas
Thrushes - plenty of Robins, but no Hermits at this point
Warblers - nothing but a few Yellow-rumps
Sparrows - Chipping & Field widespread. White-throats much less common; also had a lingering Fox Sparrow on Oxbow Island
Blackbirds - Redwings, Grackles, Cowbirds common, but no Rusties (even on Oxbow, a good migrant stop).
