APRIL 15, 2016 - CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK - SUMMIT COUNTY.HIKE: Ira Trailhead to Towpath Trail north to Valley Bridle Trail to Furnace Run Loop to Rim Trail to Plateau Trail to OakHill Trail to Valley Picnic Area on Riverview Rd.TIME: 6:30am-10:45am TEMP.: 38-58 COND.: Chilly early, giving way to warm, sunny with blue skies.FT.MI.: 5.6 OBS.: John Henry & Douglas W. (NOTE: ? = bird was seen but not sexed; * = bird was heard calling but not sexed)

   - Wood Duck - 17 (9m,8f)
   - Mallard - 9 (5m,4f)
   - Common Loon - 1 (appeared to lift off from Indigo Lake, swing over Ira Beaver Marsh & head north)

   - Great Blue Heron - 3
   - Turkey Vulture - 1
   - Cooper's Hawk - 1 (*)
   - Broad-winged Hawk - 2 (in pine grove at top of Furnace Run Loop)
   - Red-tailed Hawk - 2 (1 immature)

   - Mourning Dove - 5
   - Belted Kingfisher - 1 (*)
   - Red-bellied Woodpecker - 13 (2m,1f,3?,7*)
   - Downy Woodpecker - 8 (3m,2f,3* - one pair copulating)
