A few of us birded at Buck Creek State Park this morning. At the beach we
saw a Franklin's Gull with a few Ring-billed Gulls and a Herring Gull. There
was also a Semipalmated Sandpiper on the beach along with several Spotted
Sandpipers. Birding other parts of the state park we had 16 species of
warblers including a Wilson's Warbler, a couple Bay-breasted Warblers, and
several Blackpoll Warblers. Many of the Blackpoll Warblers were along Buck
Creek below the dam. We also had Chimney Swifts flying low over Buck Creek
at the bike trail bridge, sometimes coming within three feet of us.
