I was very excited to host 4 Purple Finches (3M & 1F) at my feeder today.
They were squabbling with a male House Finch (he left shorty afterward). It
was interesting to see them side-by-side. Joining in the fun were
White-throated and White-crowned Sparrows, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a
Yellow Warbler that seemed to be curious about all of the activity at the
feeder. An Eastern Meadowlark sang from the trees nearby but did not visit
the feeder area.
