Greater Cleveland Audubon is sponsoring the second annual Bird Quest
September 16 - 17, 2016. This FREE event introduces people to birding and
the chapters Chagrin River Corridor IBA Initiative - maintaining and
improving wildlife habitat along the Chagrin River Watershed in Lake,
Geauga, Cuyahoga and Portage Counties. For birders, it's an opportunity to
put together a team (2 or more people) and participate in a 24 hour birding
challenge. Awards for most birds found and many other categories will be
presented during a reception on Saturday from 4 - 6:30pm at North Chagrin
Reservation Nature Center. Hearty refreshments will be served - FREE!.
Details can be found at the website http://clevelandaudubon.org/ and
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this free event (it helps with planning). You
can register in person or on-line. Click the BIRD QUEST button for details.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get friends and families outdoors and
enjoy nature. Families with kids are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Maybe your team can include a new birder who will benefit from your
experience.

Not sure where to go birding in the Corridor? A list of locations (eBird
HOTSPOTS) will be provided at registration and can also be downloaded from
the website under Chagrin River Bird Quest.

IT'S ALL ABOUT HABITAT! A list of 10 habitat types will be given to each
team with the hope they can visit all of them during the 24 hours. More
habitats = More bird species.

Finally, two FREE workshops are offered for new or newer birders on
September 10th - one at Holden Arboretum (northern part of the Corridor) and
one at the Audubon Novak Education Center in Aurora, OH (south end of the
Corridor). Registration is requested for planning purposes and details are
on the website under Chagrin River Bird Quest.

If you have any questions that can't be answered on the website feel free
to drop me an email.
