I made several stops around the north end of Hoover yesterday afternoon, and found a good fringe of mud flats at several locations, along with some good birds. Best included:

Snowy Egret - 1 was in the bay off Mudhen Marsh, along with several Great Egrets and Great Blues. Best view is to take the fisherman's path north of the parking lot out to the wooded point that sticks into this 'bay'
Great Egrets - common, with 2-4 at every stop, perhaps 14 in all.

Peregrine Falcon - 1 was hunting around the boardwalk area, driving off most of the shorebirds
BlackVultures - 2 were walking along the shoreline near the Baldridge boat launch

Shorebirds - boardwalk mudflats were almost bird-less, with 8-10 Killdeer, probably due to the Peregrine. More were down towards the Sunbury causeway and Mudhen Bay, including more Killdeer, Spotted Sandpiper, Solitary Sandpiper, LesserYellowlegs, and Pectoral Sandpipers.

Gulls&Terns - Ring-billed Gulls everywhere, but also found Herring Gull and 2 Caspian Terns
