A naturalist from Summit County Parks told me that a few thousand Purple Martins are staging at Nimisilla Lake in Summit County, an annual event. Could your birds be 'staging' in the evening as these Martins are doing? I saw Swallows do the same thing along the causeway at Magee a couple years ago.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Large mixed flocks flying north through Fremont...

For the past hour, I've been watching flocks of thousands of birds, Jay's, woodpeckers and others heading north along the Sandusky River through Fremont in northwest Ohio.
Any ideas of why? Thanks...
