I was at the Wilderness Rd. peat pits with a friend last evening from 8 to
8:45pm. In this hot weather, it appears that evening may be a better time
to visit. We found a good number of shorebirds and species there in the one
wet spot left, plus a few along the canal. I had been there a week ago in
the morning and there were much fewer.

These shorebirds were there:
15 Killdeer
10 Semipalmated plovers
2 Lesser yellowlegs
3 Solitary sandpipers
4 Spotted sandpipers
6 Semipalmated sandpipers
30 Least sandpipers
4 Pectoral sandpipers
