A quick hike around Sharon Woods this hot afternoon found migration in a lull, but not entirely static. I walked the Spring Creek Trail and Thomas Trail - all in the blessed shade - , and still ran into some flocks of birds. Shrock Lake was largely empty except for geese on the shore and mallards, plus 1 Green Heron. Notables included:

Yellow-billed Cuckoo - 1 was along the connector trail along the edge of the woods
Flycatchers - fair #s, with 6+ Pewees, 1 Willow, 2 Great Crested, and 1 E.Kingbird
Vireos - 6 Red-eyed, including 2 singing along Spring Creek Trail.
Swallows - hardly any except for a few Barn Swallows
Wrens,Gantactchers - 4-5 House Wrens, along with 3 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
Thrushes - nothing but Robins
Mimids - nothing but a few Catbirds
Warblers - very few - 2 Black&Whites and 1 Common Yellowthroat
Sparrows - the first flocks of postbreeding Chipping Sparrows, with 8 and 12 at different locations
Oriole - 1 female Baltimore along the Spring Creek Trail
