I've been going about once a week this summer. Both the Horseshoe Lake and
Lower Lake mudflats usually have at least some peeps on them, but this year
all I've seen are Spotted, Solitary, Lesser Yellowlegs, and Killdeer. Even
the Killdeer seem to have vanished recently...We may as well just start
looking for warblers already.

Good birding,

Gautam Apte
