This upcoming Saturday October 1st, there will be a Falconry Event held at "The Center" from 11:00AM to 4:00PM. Join Mick Brown, master falconer, along with his Harris's Hawks, and other falconry experts as they show the birds they use to hunt prey. Demonstrations will be held during the afternoon in the grassy area behind "The Center". The Center is a natural history museum with over 350 bird and mammal mounts in natural settings. Full size Musk Oxen, Mountain Goat, Caribou, and Grizzly Bears, are a sampling of the mammals. Mounts of 187 species of Ohio birds are on display, along with Great Gray Owl, Black-billed Magpie, and even Passenger Pigeon, just to name a few. As an added bonus, also taking place in the adjacent Beaver Creek State Park, on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00AM to 4:00PM, is The Pioneer Days celebration. The annual event takes place in the restored village area and includes arts and crafts, demonstrations, food, apple butter making, grinding of grain in the old mill, and the annual duck race. If you make the trip to this scenic corner of southeastern Columbiana County, we guarantee you won't be disappointed. "The Center" is located at 12798 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, Ohio.
