There was an extremely rare sighting of a wedge-rumped storm-petrel in
AZ yesterday, and perhaps it has been seen this morning. I am no longer
a chaser, but this reminded me of a string to make rare birds known to
everyone who is.
Stop using social media, and report rarities on THIS LIST dedicated to
the birds of Ohio. Have a look at the NC bird list
http://birding.aba.org/maillist/NzC to see a helpful discussion of
reporting birds on all sorts of forums (hint: Nate Diaz has it right).
Start with the post from yesterday titled "anyone Tweeting" and scroll
up to four remarks that followed. You can keep great finds to yourself
if you care to, but if you want to share them with everyone who will
want to know start posting on Ohiobirds, not some obscure gossip site...
