I am always fascinated by the boldness, the aggressiveness of
young sharp shinned hawks.  Here at my house in Geauga Co. 
I’ve been watching the usual interplay between a flock of blue jays and 
a lone sharpie.  Back and forth, chasing, screeching, diving through
the trees. Practice sessions is all I can make out of these exercises. 

Today, at Auburn Road - Ladue, I saw a new demonstration of the
sharpies boldness.  One of the green herons was perched low
in a tree branch, over the river, when a sharpie strafed him. Seemed
to aim right for him.  The heron, calling and clucking in alarm, went for
the river where he sat in water half way up to his neck, still calling 
in alarm.  The sharpie sat on the branch from which it had rousted the
heron, admiring his work.
