I spent the morning at Conneaut harbor and lunchtime at Walnut Beach.  L. Erie is dropping now, it was evident at both places.  The pool at the east end of the sandspit at Conneaut is shrinking, while the mudflats at the far east end of Walnut Beach are prime right now.  Highlights at Conneaut were: green heron, 19 turkey vultures, 2 bald eagles, 3 semipalmated plovers, 15 sanderlings, 5 least sandpipers, white-rumped sandpiper, pectoral sandpiper, semipalmated sandpiper, 2 greater yellowlegs, 2 lesser yellowlegs, 4 Caspian terns, and 2 Forster's terns.  Walnut Beach had: black-bellied plover, Am. golden-plover, 5 semipalmated plovers, Baird's sandpiper, 10 least sandpipers, 3 pectoral sandpipers, 2 semipalmated sandpipers, 3 lesser yellowlegs, and belted kingfisher.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
