SEPTEMBER 17, 2016 - DWIGHT & ANN CHASAR'S CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK FALL CENSUS.AREA: Horseshoe Pond, Tree Farm Trail, Major Rd. to the Coliseum Grasslands.TIME: 6:50am-11:15am TEMP.: 65~71 COND.: Overcast; started to rain at 8:25am lasting until 10:10am; then overcast turning sunny.FT.MI.: 3.75 OBS.: Douglas W. & Michelle Vogus.

   - White-tailed Deer - 1 (doe)

II. BIRDS: 36 SPECIES.

   - Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
   - Killdeer - 7
   - Rock Pigeon - 4
   - Mourning Dove - 7
   - Chimney Swift - 33
   - Red-bellied Woodpecker - 2
   - Downy Woodpecker - 3
   - Hairy Woodpecker - 2
   - Northern Flicker - 2
   - Pileated Woodpecker - 3
   - American Kestrel - 1 (male at the Coliseum Grasslands)
   - Least Flycatcher - 1
   - Eastern Phoebe - 1
   - Blue Jay - 11
   - American Crow - 12
   - Tree Swallow - 1
   - Black-capped Chickadee - 13
   - Tufted Titmouse - 2
   - Red-breasted Nuthatch - 1 (Tree Farm Trail)

   - Eastern Milk Snake - 1 (about 3-feet long at the Coliseum Grasslands)

   - Northern Spring Peeper - 3 (heard only)


V. BUTTERFLIES: 6 SPECIES.


   - Eastern Black Swallowtail - 1 (Coliseum Grasslands)

   - Cabbage Butterfly - 1 (Coliseum Grasslands)
   - Clouded Sulphur - 1 (Coliseum Grasslands)
   - Eastern Tailed-Blue - 5 (Coliseum Grasslands)
   - Pearl Crescent - 1 (Coliseum Grasslands)
   - Monarch - 3 (Coliseum Grasslands)
