I saw my first 7 Rusty's yesterday in northern Portage County near Mantua,
OH, right where they should be near a wet woods along the Aurora Branch of
the Chagrin River. If you are unfamiliar with this bird here are a couple
pictures from yesterday https://www.flickr.com/photos/85567104@N05/. Also,
to read about the huge decline in its numbers in recent years you can go to
Cornell's All About Birds
(https://www.allaboutbirds.org/help-scientists-find-out-whats-happening-to-r
usty-blackbirds/).

Please be sure to eBird your Rusty sightings for the Rusty Blackbird
Project. Although we are not in a "Blitz" the researchers use eBird to
track movement and numbers.

Thanks,

Matt Valencic

Geauga County
