Temperate migration was still on display at this south Columbus Park this morning. Stops at Heron Pond, the Borrow Pits, the Confluence area, and Cruiser Pond found lots of temperate migrants, including

Great Egrets - 5 were still at the shrinking Borrow Pit pools, along with 3 Great Blues
Waterfowl - 12 Green-winged Teal were at these same pools
Bald Eagle - a subadult was perched along Big Walnut Creek near the Confluence footbridge
BrownCreepers - singles were at many locations along Alum and Blacklick Creeks
Robins - probably the most common bird of the morning, with flocks at every stop; Heron Pond had an early movement of over 250+

Kinglets - Ruby-crowns were still widespread here, with 4 at different locations. The only concentration of Golden-crowns was in the Pine Copses near the Borrow Pit, with 4-5.

CedarWaxwings - also had widespread flocks, with most sites having 40-50 birds
HermitThrush - 1 was along the Groveport Blacklick Bikepath
Warblers - only Yellow-rumps, but they were at many locations

Sparrows - many small flocks of White-throateds, but also had a flock of 6 Fields (at Confluence), 3 Swamps (at Cruiser Pond), 1 Lincoln's (along the Groveport Blacklick Bikepath), and 2 White-cronws (at Heron Pond)

Blackbirds - early flocks of Red-wings were flyovers at both Heron POnd and Confluence area; heron Pond also had 7 Rusties
