I led a Lake Metroparks' Bird Walk today at Lake Erie Bluffs from 8-10am. There was a good bit of raptor movement. Walking the main loop off Lane Road we had a MERLIN stay with us for an hour. It repeatedly perched in the largest dead trees between the trail and the lake. It ate a bird and then continued to hunt more birds over the field. At one point it battled an American Kestrel. A Cooper's and Sharp-shinned passed by. Additionally, there was never a point when we could not see Bald Eagles. We counted 6 individual eagles, but there was likely much more.

Andy
