Please visit Deep Cover Cleveland on FB for photos, as I can't post them
here. Posting depicts an unusual Am. Goldfinch molt/ injury in Clevlenad
Heights, OH 11/19/20116. I imagine in a common bird like Am. Goldfinch,
what I show is not at all unusual, considering the incredible molting this
species undergoes. There could be other sources for the discoloration as
well like I alluded to: injury, nutrition, disease. Specifically the
pictured anomaly is a white head. I would like to hear from experienced
birders, though. I haven't come across this kind of discoloration much. My
field and feeder experience lags a bit.

Thanks!!
Laura
