We had a probable Sharp-shinned Hawk putting a damper on the backyard feeder
birds this afternoon.  Photo is a bit dark, but I also got a shot of an
unhappy Carolina Wren who crouched frozen for several minutes on our deck
railing while the hawk was in the pine trees:

after other birds resumed activity, and squirrels of course were not phased
by the hawk in the least.
