I had good luck today birding at Evans L. and Pine L. in Mahoning Co.  Highlights were 10 greater white-fronted geese and an ad. lesser black-backed gull at the south end of Pine L.  Also at Pine L. were gadwalls, 34 Am. black ducks, 80 n. shovelers, 11 n. pintails, 20 ring-necked ducks, c. goldeneye, 47 hooded mergansers, common mergansers, 23 ruddy ducks, Am. coots, and 550 ring-billed gulls.  Evans L. had gadwalls, bufflehead, 67 hooded mergansers, common mergansers, red-breasted merganser, 27 ruddy ducks, 6 pied-billed grebes, Am. coot, 2750 ring-billed gulls, and belted kingfisher.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
