I am curious as to why Eurasian Collared-Doves were described in a recent post as "pests." It is my understanding that they are not adversely competing with native dove species for habitat or resources. The ones I have seen have been coexisting with Mourning Doves at grain elevators, in fallow fields, or in urban and suburban settings. Are they an agricultural nuisance? Or do they have other faults that merit the label "pest?"
