I had a few minutes from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wed. to check out the feeders at Inniswood and was thrilled to see that the reported red-breasted nuthatch was still a regular visitor.  Never saw more than one at a time and the one(s) I saw were all male so not sure how many are there.  All the regular suspects were enjoying themselves:  lots of juncos, chickadees, titmice, and white-breasted nuthatches (that look HUGE next to their feisty cousins), plus red-bellied and downy woodpeckers, cardinals and a single white-throated sparrow.  But maybe the biggest thrill arrived just as I was leaving:  a lone turkey vulture!  Not sure what this says about global warming, but the t.v. was either very early or very late.   Good birding to you in the New Year.  Pam Unger Look, I want to love this world / As though it's the last chance / I'm ever going to get / To be alive / And know it.
