Yesterday 1/22 I visited Conneaut and Ashtabula.  Conneaut had canvasback, greater scaup, buffleheads, common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, ruddy ducks, Am. coots, great black-backed gulls, and a belted kingfisher.   I searched several places in Ashtabula, but didn't see anything noteworthy.  On the way home I stopped at Mosquito L. and birded at a number of spots, the only birds were at scope range at the Hoagland-Blackstub Rd. pulloff.  With hundreds of Canada geese there were 8 snow geese (2 blue, 6 white), Am. black ducks, common mergansers, and 2 bald eagles.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
