I checked out the Scioto River from downtown Columbus south to Shadeville (about 8 miles), as well as neighboring quarries, and found far fewer waterfowl than yesterday. I stopped at Scioto Audubon, Hart Rd, Haul Rd, Scioto Gorve, and the Shadeville quarries (end of Parsons Ave, and along SR317). Notables included:

Mute Swans - 2 at Haul Rd quarries, and 2 at Hart Rd quarry (which was frozen over)
CanadaGeese - large flocks at Parsons Rd quarry (nearly 500) and Haul Rd, but nothing with them
Other waterfowl - Mallards at many locations, plus a few Black Ducks
BaldEagles - an adult was perched along the river at Scioto Audubon; later watched it chase a juvenile
Gulls - the only big flock of Ring-bills was 150 on the ice at Hart Rd quarry
Pileated Woodpecker - 1 was calling from the riparian forest at Scioto Grove
BrownCreepers - 2 were at Scioto Audubon, while 5 were in the riparian forest at Scioto Grove
TreeSparrows - flocks were at Scioto Audubon, Scioto Grove, and the Parsons Rd quarry.
