We looked over the lake at Buck Creek State Park in Clark County this
morning. There were lots of gulls but we didn't find any unusual species.
The dominate bird was Horned Grebe. We saw about 100 of them. We also saw
several species of ducks including American Wigeon, Northern Shoveler,
Redhead, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser,
Red-breasted Merganser, and Ruddy Duck. We also saw a couple Pied-billed
Grebes and a Common Loon. We also saw our first Tree Swallow of the year. A
bridge on Old Columbus Road is out just west of Grant Road so it is a longer
drive to get from the north end of the lake to the south end of the lake.
