Spring Valley Lake today is partly frozen over, but is hosting hundreds of
ducks, including many shovelers, mallards, gadwalls, Am. widgeon, and a
least 1 pintail. They are all at the far end of the lake from the parking
lot, up against the cattails, so scope is needed. Also saw an immature
bald eagle buzzing the diving duck flocks on the nearby gravel pit lake.
