My hubby and I drove down around 7:30PM to the Bluffs off of Lane Rd.
Enjoyed the chorus of spring peepers. All the night life settling in.
Beautiful and relaxing evening. About 8PM the woodcocks started calling
and displaying. We counted 13 in a very short time. Heard a Barred Owl
call once in the distance.  Had another Owl fly across the trail;
couldn't get on it fast enough with the bins. Reminded me of a
Short-eared. Saw the wing shape but it was flying away toward the lake
and circled west. Fun evening! Also ran into some friends; made for a
wonderful way to end the evening.
Sally Isacco, Chardon
