I birded the tower at lake Erie Bluffs in Lake County this morning for a couple hours. Despite southwest winds, it was much cooler today and a lot less birds. Yesterday i saw close to 9,000 blue jays, today about 1,000. There was a little more activity on the lake today with more Caspian terns and cormorants, but nothing else of note. I saw a lot fewer songbirds migrating with only yellow, palm and yellow-rumped warblers. The only birds of note were 11 black-bellied plovers that were heading west.

Apr 28, 2017 7:00 AM - 9:45 AM
Protocol: Stationary
Comments: Partly cloudy with southwest winds. The temperatures were noticeably cooler compared with yesterday. Almost immediately it was evident there were a lot fewer birds moving today and that ended up being the case.
