Julie and I took a walk at Old Reid Park this morning. This is in Clark
County just across Croft Road from Buck Creek State Park. We had a couple
first sightings for us for the year. We saw our first Warbling Vireo of the
year and also a Green Heron. Two Chimney Swifts also flew by. We also saw a
Solitary Sandpiper. Along the bike path west of the Pumphouse Road bridge we
saw four Purple Finches.
Other birds included several Yellow-throated Warblers and a few Northern
Parulas. These arrived a few days ago and nest in the park.
