Yesterday, Sat. Apr 30, while birding with some friends at Salt Fork, at about 1:00 pm we observed an Upland Sandpiper at the beach parking lot. He was seen in the 2nd lot in the short grass long enough for a good look by all 4 of us but then headed into the tall grass. He then flew north towards the 1st lot. We quickly headed to that lot but could not relocate him. We searched all the lots for about a half hour but could find no more. Still, it is good habitat for them so it might be worth checking for a few days.
