On Silver Lake, noonish: besides the mallards & Canada geese, 3 ruddy ducks, pair horned grebes, 3 d.c. cormorants, at least half dozen common loons. At my house: red-bellied woodpecker excavating nest hole, flock of goldfinches, light red-tailed hawk circling, cardinals & robins so loud, it's hard to hear the train passing.
