An American Bittern was in our wetland both yesterday morning and last night. In the morning,  I had walked past the Bittern within 10 feet and did not see it, but it flew when a pair of wood ducks took off.  Last night, he was back in the wetland when we left.



Other birds seen:



Warblers - magnolia,  bay-breasted, cape may, palm, yellow, yellowthroat, yellow breasted chat, yellow-rumpled



Also, ovenbird, veery, brown thrasher, willow flycatcher, phoebe, red-eyed vireo, white-crowned sparrow,  rose-breasted grosbeak, woodcocks, great-horned owl, as well as more common birds.



The kestrel in our barn have 5 babies.
