Boardwalk was much more pleasant w/o the crowds & birding was quite good. I arrived around 10 but things were still pretty active. A bit windy but clouds gave way to sunshine. 

76 species w/15 warblers. I saw more Canadas in one day than I've ever seen--at least 8. Nothing like, oh how wonderful, a Canada for the first, then Oh, just another Canada with the last one for the day. ;-) Great looks at a couple Prothonotaries chasing each other. Blackpolls easy to find. A few Wilsons as well. 

Only new warbler species for me for Magee was Orange-crowned. 

No one I met had seen a Connecticut today but it was posted somewhere. Did not hear of any Mournings either. One birder I spoke to had seen one Golden-winged in the AM. An avocet was reported but I missed it. 

Other highlights: a pair of Baltimore Orioles added themselves to my "seen copulating" list. Swainson's Thrushes singing in the afternoon was nice as were the beeping Com Nighthawks at my hotel. I saw one at its day roost on the Boardwalk. YB Cuckoo.
