Thought I would add my 2 cents on the decline of postings to the listserve vs other platforms (BTW, not unique to OH birds).

I'm a longtime birder & computer savvy but I still rely almost exclusively on the listserve for bird sightings & location information especially when I move or visit a new area.

Personally, I do not like Facebook for many reasons particularly the endless ads & personal tracking. I also don't have the patience to follow multiple FB pages. I also have never warmed to ebird, still finding it cumbersome.

Thus, I add my fervent request that birders who post to these other platforms, cc the listserve for old-fashioned fogies such as myself. I really appreciate the birders who post their sightings to the list. They are also so helpful when contacted off list for details.

Thx,

Peggy Wang
Hudson

PS: pls no emails scolding me for not utilizing other platforms (yes that has happened!). If u r happy with other platforms, that's great--I'm just requesting u also post to the list.
