Back on June 5th, a request was made for the status of Marsh Wrens in other locations in Ohio. Meaningful responsive interest did not happen. As of today, June 18th, the Marsh Wrens, none, have returned to The Guilford Lake Marsh / Depot Road Marsh / or as it is now called, The Firestone-Yeagley Wildlife Area, in Columbiana County. In years past this location has had numerous, easily heard and seen Marsh Wrens. Where are they, and why have they not returned? Has anyone out there in bird land had the same experience this year, or have any thoughts on this disappointing phenomenon.

Bob Lane / neighboring Mahoning County
