I, too, am wondering why I have not heard Marsh Wrens singing in the backwater marsh of LaDue Reservoir in Geauga County. Swamp Sparrows and all other expected species are 'on site'. I will continue to watch for them.

As of today, June 18th, the Marsh Wrens, none, have returned to The Guilford Lake Marsh / Depot Road Marsh / or as it is now called, The Firestone-Yeagley Wildlife Area, in Columbiana County. In years past this location has had numerous, easily heard and seen Marsh Wrens. Where are they, and why have they not returned? Has anyone out there in bird land had the same experience this year, or have any thoughts on this disappointing phenomenon.
