In Spring 2015, a fellow poster on a smallmouth bass forum put up a photo of a "swarm of baby birds" that clambered over his feet on a Little Miami-side game trail near Middletown and Corwin Roads in this very vicinity.  The pic was of Northern Bobwhites.  So perhaps not a recent release!
