The Neotropic Cormorant continues to show occasionally off Wendy Park. Viewing can be difficult, as hundreds of cormorants can be lined up on the east and west break walls. Patience and a spotting scope are absolutely required. Gautam Apte reported the bird 9/3 at 4 pm, and Donna Kuhn reported it at 11 am today. Ian Lynch took a great documentary photo of the bird today at 10 am as the bird sat on the west break wall near the lighthouse. Two spots are best for viewing: the main gravel parking lot at Wendy Park, and from the old coast guard station pier, that juts out into the harbor, getting you a bit closer to the east break wall.
